About Trisha

Trisha Ahmed is an incoming statehouse reporter at the Associated Press in Minnesota via Report for America. 

She formerly worked as an investigative reporter and data reporter at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism in Maryland. 

 

Her stories have appeared in the Associated Press, Washington Post, New York Times, BBC and hundreds of other outlets.

As a Bangladeshi-American who was raised atheist in the Bible Belt, Trisha spends her life between cultures and sub-cultures. Her favorite stories to cover are about race, ethnicity and socioeconomic disparities.

Before journalism, Trisha worked as a field interviewer at a poverty and inequality research lab in Baltimore.

 

She holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in sociology and social policy from Johns Hopkins University.
